Shellac for Guitarmakers and French
Polishers-Fernandez
Music, P.O. Box 5153, Irvine, CA 92616
This site focuses on shellac products and their
role in the art of French Polishing with special reference to
finishing guitars and other musical instruments.
In order to facilitate the understanding of
these matters I am establishing on this website
The Shellac Project and
offering a Shellac
Sampler.

- The Shellac Project will be a way to learn about the
nature and qualities of lac products, spirit varnishes and related
hand finishing techniques. It is an experiment in learning, a
sharing of ideas, a dangling conversation... My intention is to
present some introductory ideas and raise some questions and then
invite comments by email from all of you out there in cyberspace.
Then, I will selectively post information from these comments with
the permissiion of the sender. Rather than creating an open ended
internet forum (which often gets side tracked) this editing system
will allow us to keep a concentrated focus. You can send your
comments to: ron@fernandezmusic.com
